[ Harper is standing over the edge of the closest valley, dressed all in a form fitting black suit of sorts. Very professional looking, of course. The handgun in her hip and the rifle on her back at least indicates that Harper shares his opinion on guns. Since she can't depend on her magic as much as everyone else, she'll simply shoot between the eyes everything she can.
When she turns, her expression is sour. Yeah he's early, great. That means they can get over with it faster, but also means her carefully prepared plan is not so carefully prepared anymore.
Thunder roars over her head and circle of lightning shines on the land below for a moment, followed by yet more thunder. ]
A week ago a group of six Heavenly magic users decided the world was overdue an Apocalypse, so they obtained the shard of an old mystic weapon and tried to summon God. As in, the Judeo-Christian God.
[ Yeah, she's not even going to say hi. Seriously ruining her plans. ]
Before you ask, they didn't summon God. The sons of bitches didn't even know they had a shard of Uriel's flaming sword. You know Uriel, right? Righteous angel guarding the gates of Eden? Might not be God, but still has a righteous boner for punishing humans. It might not even be Uriel the thing they brought here, but whatever it is they summoned is sucking the life out of them. Then it's going to suck dry the closest town, and so on.
[ wow don't give him that face, you didn't tell him you needed him to wait. he would have - it's not like he didn't have other things he could be doing, ruuuude. but either way, max doesn't react much to it, just rolls a shoulder as he steps up next to her, looking out at the valley.
hearing the name 'Uriel', he lets out a low groan, grimacing some. ]
Uriel's a bitch. We don't get along well. [ more like, Uriel doesn't like Max much, given that'd been one Dani channeled one of the times Max needed the possession literally kicked out of him by Marco and Dani. he hits hard, it hurts. but-- ] I can take him.
[ probably. maybe. we'll see. ] But this doesn't seem like Uriel. He isn't the righteous boner type - just defends.
[ which was how he'd been so good for slamming the demon out of max. he doesn't really bat an eye at the mention that the summoners had been sucked dry, considering that deserved, honestly, but the town thing is a problem, isn't it? ]
Okay. What do you need? A roadblock to buy time, or do you want me to just kick it back from whence it came? [ he's good with either, but if she has a plan already in motion for sending it back to the heavens, that'd be preferred to battle royale. ]
[ Harper frowns at the confirmation. She feared just as much. Looking over the edge, she scans the terrain. If it wasn't for the brewing storm everything would be eerily silent, and even with the noise it's easy to tell how still everything is. Expecting. Fearing, she would add. ]
I thought as much. Not my area of expertise. They are using a shard of Uriel's sword though, but it has probably been corrupted. That's only going to make things worse.
[ She turns to give Max another look, from head to toe. Doubt crosses her eyes. Is this the right thing to do? She called him because she knew he wouldn't go telling to the BCR of their encounter, but Harper has a moment of weakness to wonder if she wants to put him through this. If he's strong enough.
She ultimately decides he'll have to be. ]
The shard is kept at a chapel not too far from here. It's set up in such a way that the physical body won't be destroyed until the shard is either destroyed itself or removed. I need you to buy me time, get its attention. I'll disable the shard.
[ Destroying the shard is easier, but it would take everything a few kilometers around with it too, so it's not a good idea. ]
The creature is a ways from here. [ She extends a gloved hand towards him. ] I'll get you closer. Just close your eyes and empty your lungs. And whatever you do, keep your eyes closed.
